French toast made with thick slices of white or wheat bread
20 mins 4 eggs ⅔ cup milk 2 teaspoons of cinnamon 8 thick slices of bread either white or whole wheat, better if slightly stale Butter Maple syrup (or other favorite) Confectioner's sugar Beat eggs and milk together. Whisk until well blended. Pour into a shallow bowl. Sprinkle cinnamon on top of mixture Start by spraying griddle surface with no-stick oil and add some butter on medium-high heat. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing bread to soak up some of the mixture. Add as many slices of bread onto the griddle as will fit at a time. Cook until brown on both sides, flipping the bread when necessary. Serve hot with topped with sprinkled confectioner's sugar Top with your favorite syrup
Older bread seems to work better than fresh as it doesn't fall apart as easily. Also, wonderfully when serve with fresh fruit and a dab of whipped cream
